Do you have filming experience and access to a camera? We are seeking a volunteer who can film a 30-minute Kitchen Demo teaching best practices on making small, informed changes, developing sound eating and activity habits, and recognizing nutrition's impact on thriving.

What is the event?
In recognition of National Nutrition Month®, TCOA will be hosting a Live Demo of different kitchen practices and appliances that can help with accessibility and creating nutritious meals at home. This will be hosted at the Sam Corey Senior Center in Holt.
What will volunteers be doing?
- Arrive on-site at the designated Senior Center before the start of the Kitchen Demo.
- Use your camera to film a 30-minute Kitchen Demo presented by TCOA and the Disability Network Capital Area.
- Prepare/edit the film as needed and send it to NicholsK@tcoa.org.
- Interested volunteers should submit an application at tcoa.org/volunteer in order to meet TCOA’s background check requirements. (In the application, under "Propose your own volunteer role", write: Film Kitchen Demo.)
Reach out to Kayla Nichols at NicholsK@tcoa.org with any questions.
What is the schedule?
The Kitchen Demo will begin prior to the Senior Congregate Lunch which is served at noon in the same location. The volunteer should arrive one hour before noon to film.
The whole event will include opportunities for attendees to:
- Try out accessible kitchen tools.
- Receive a handout: "Kitchen Tools That Make Food Accessible”.
- Watch a live "Kitchen Demo" teaching best practices on making small, informed changes, developing sound eating and activity habits, and recognizing nutrition's impact on thriving.
