Our Fall semester runs from September 2nd - December 17th, 2025. If you are joining us after our semester has started, no problem! RDC accepts new volunteers year-round.

RDC's Newcomer Center is open for programs Monday-Thursday 9-7:30pm. No Friday/weekend volunteer opportunities are available. Group opportunities may be available upon request: please email Savanna for more information.

All volunteers must commit to weekly 2-hour volunteer sessions for the entire semester. Volunteers who are unable to commit through the entire semester should reach out to Savanna at volunteer@rdclansing.org to discuss appropriate accommodations.

The RDC is a vital nonprofit organization created in 2002 to provide critical services for refugees in mid-Michigan. By providing formal and informal learning opportunities, the Center aims to be an open and inclusive place for refugees to learn and locate the resources they need to flourish as residents and citizens. Our mission is to cultivate a welcoming, thriving community that collaborates with refugees and newcomers through education, engagement, and support.
