Who We Are
The Public Service Department is responsible for the following:
- CART recycling, trash, and yard waste services
- Maintaining streets, sidewalks, signs, flood control, sustainable forestry, and winter response
- Planning, designing, constructing and maintaining of streets, bridges, sidewalks, bike facilities, traffic signals, sewers systems, and flood control systems
- Collecting, pumping, processing, and treating of the City of Lansing's wastewater
- Issuing of all public service permits and inspecting all issued permits
- Providing administrative support, budgeting, and sending traffic advisories
- Assisting with support for special events
- Maintaining and operating all City-owned building, facilities and vehicles
