United Against Poverty Michigan is a nonprofit organization based in Okemos, Michigan, dedicated to empowering families to overcome poverty and achieve long-term stability. Mission and Approach The organization’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty by connecting families with critical resources and fostering sustainable economic self-sufficiency. This is achieved through comprehensive support services, community-led alliances, and empowerment through education.​ The 100 Families Initiative A central program of United Against Poverty Michigan is the 100 Families Initiative, which aims to assist 100 families in the Lansing area by 2025. This initiative provides wraparound services—including crisis care, financial planning, and employment support—through partnerships with local churches, nonprofits, and service providers. The goal is to guide families from crisis to stability and ultimately to career readiness. Help families move from crisis to stability unto thriving.
