By connecting families with churches, organizations, and advocates, we empower them to achieve holistic well-being.
How It Works
The initiative is centered on a personalized and collaborative approach:
- Assessment: Families are evaluated in 13 key areas that influence their overall health and stability.
- Action Plan: A customized plan is created to address immediate needs and long-term goals.
- Collaboration: Families are connected with resources through partnerships with churches, nonprofits, and community organizations.
- Advocacy: Family advocates walk alongside families, offering support and guidance as they work toward their goals.
- Spiritual Growth: Families are linked with local churches for discipleship and spiritual support.
Position Overview
The Student Family Advocate will work directly with families in crisis to
conduct assessments, develop action plans, and connect them to resources.
Reports to: 100 Families Coordinator
Responsibilities
- Conduct family needs assessments in-person.
- Enter family data into the HopeHub system.
- Follow up with assigned families based on their crisis level (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly).
- Attend Family Advocate Team Meetings and Alliance Meetings.
- Assist in connecting families to resources and community partners.
Skills Required
- Interest in social work, human services, or community outreach.
- Good listening and interviewing skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
